Valencia Northbridge Bluefins Swim Team 2024 Junior Coach Contract

Jr. Swim Coach Rules & Guidelines

A Jr Coach for the Northbridge Bluefins Swim Team is defined as a current Northbridge Bluefins registered swimmer, who is actively helping the coaching staff during our HOA summer season during practices and meets. Jr Coaches will volunteer their time and talents for the benefit for the team and community. Our parent volunteers will also provide several dinners for them on specified Fun Thursdays after practice.

REQUIREMENTS OF THE POSITION

•  Must be at least 13 years of age as of Sept. 1st
•  Must be able to assist & attend at least 75% of all practices/meets
•  Must attend Red Cross CPR Certification Class (that the Bluefins Board will schedule) or be currently certified
• Must swim and compete on the Northbridge Bluefins Swim Team throughout the current season.
• Must HAVE FUN and BE FUN

  ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION

  Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may be included, but are not limited tothe following:

•  Attendance at scheduled swim meets, swim team meetings, registration, and parent meetings, as specified by the Head and Assistant Coaches as well as Board of Directors. Please provide your summer schedules to your Head Coach so the practices can be planned accordingly.
•  Supervise swimmers; create and maintain a clean and safe environment for swim team participants.
• Actively assist coaching swimmers per Head and Assistant Coaches direction. This is to BE FUN for the kids, so HAVE FUN, BE FUN and help our swimmers learn all at the same time. Be Patient. Be Kind. Be Assuring. Be their biggest fan. Be able to really provide POSITIVE encouragement.
•  Help coordinate and attend swim team special events and fundraisers, as directed by the Head and Assistant Coaches.
• Complete adherence to instruction/guidance from the Head and Assistant Coaches and team/pool rules.
• Observe all safety and operational requirements of the Northbridge Pool andClubhouse facilities.
• Develop strong team building qualities through demonstrated leadership. While we understand that this is a volunteer position, it is a leadership and role model position for the younger swimmers to look up to and look forward to.
• Any type of poor behavior, mistreatment, bullying, inappropriate language, etc will not be tolerated at any time and can result in immediate dismissal as a Jr Coach as well as a registered swimmer for the remainder of the season. It is a privilege to serve as a Jr. Coach and your positive role is vital to the Northbridge Bluefins continued success in our community.
